  • Stamp 2 allows you to do part-time work for up to 20 hours per week during the college working days. They can do 40 hours of full-time work per week during holidays.
  • GNIB registration should be done once you reach Ireland.
  • Students who fulfill the mentioned eligibility criteria and want to work in Ireland must also possess a Personal Public Services Number. Students with a valid PPS Number can be paid, and they will transfer the salary only to an Irish bank account.
  • International students also need to follow the Universal Social Contribution (USC), Pay Related Social Insurance (PRSI), employment and taxation laws.

Third Level Graduate Scheme Permission

The third-level graduates from Non-EU and EEA countries who have been awarded a degree from a recognized third-level education institution in Ireland may remain there after their studies to seek employment.

Eligibility for the scheme:

  • The student must submit a degree certificate from the institution where they achieved the award.
  • Stamp 2 is the student immigration permission, and they must apply for an up-to-date immigration registration within six months of graduation.
  • They must not have exceeded the seven-year limit on their permission as a non-EEA national student in the State.
  • A graduate will not access the Program on more than two separate occasions.

After your results are issued, and you are eligible for the scheme, you must approach the GNIB office with the documents required to apply for the third-level graduate scheme.

Graduate immigration permission of up to twelve months

Students holding a National Framework of Qualifications award at Level 8 will be awarded a minimum of twelve months to a maximum of seven years of student permission. Graduates holding a National Framework of Qualifications award of Level 9 or above will be granted permission to participate in the Program for twelve months. This will be extended for another twelve months if the graduate proves to the immigration authorities that this is important.

General Employment Permit

The General Employment Permits are issued to the students from the Department of Business, Enterprise, and Innovation. Based on an offer of employment, the employer or the employee can apply for a General Employment Permit. General Employment Permits are issued to the employee and include a statement of the employee's rights and entitlements.

Students applying for General Employment Permits must have a minimum annual pay of €30,000. Remuneration includes the salary for the job and health insurance. In some instances, where the student has graduated in the last 12 months, applications for employment with annual pay of €27,000 are considered exceptional.

STAMP 1A Trainee Accountants Scheme

Students studying accountancy can apply for a Stamp 1A Trainee Accountant Permission. All trainees having a Stamp 1A are required to undertake a minimum of three examinations per year and pass at least two of those exams per year, and complete two workplace objectives per year.

Non- EEA students on Stamp 2 or Stamp 2A who have completed their course with a qualification recognized and granted by an Irish Authority and who have not exceeded the 7-year time limit can transfer to Stamp 1A Trainee Accountant Permission for the remainder of their time limit. Students who desire to extend their stay beyond 7 years can accept employment with an accredited research organization in Ireland.
